I Was Loathe to Return to the Inversion

I visited summer over the weekend.

I wore flip-flops and I bought flow-y blouses. I went running in 70 degree weather. I ate ice cream. I smelled rosemary. It was delightful.

Phoenix is the land of the retired. Costco was packed on Friday afternoon with those 64 and over buying their acai juice and raw nuts. On the trail up Pinnacle Peak, I was passed by 70-year-old women in sports bras and running shorts with killer abs.

Now, I haven't ever been to Phoenix in the summer, when the sweltering temperatures could melt the skin off my bones. But I do plan on wintering in Phoenix when I retire.

And I plan on retiring in ten months.
