And I Love Him Because He Knows "More Than Words" Isn't Satisfactory

I know it's been awhile. I'm busy. But rest assured, I have like three blog entries marinating in my brain. I'll post them when they're good and saucy.

I went to my adorable cousin's bridal shower the other night. They appropriately gazed into each other's eyes and gushed about all their mate's admirable qualities and how they know they will love each other forever.

It made me feel old.

I went home to Tyler and very adorably batted my eyes and asked him to tell me why he loved me. He rolled his equally adorable eyes and told me he needed to do his homework.

I pouted a bit (one of my more adorable qualities) and went to sleep.

I found this in my inbox the next day:

"Laura:

Why do I love you?

You have the best smile of anyone I know.
You're almost as funny as me--though you don't recognize much of a sense of humor in me.
You're the kindest person I've ever known.
You stopped your tickling rule as soon as you realized it was more fun to tickle me.
You have begun one of the hardest stages of our lives with the most optimistic attitude.
You constantly serve your boys (me included).
You're sexy.
Really sexy!
You prioritize life so well.
You think highly of me--though sometimes you shouldn't.
You do the abc stuff--and other examples of great mothering.
You look really cute in baseball caps.
You're sporty.
You rub my back--even though I never rub yours.
You're always excited when I come home and sad when I leave--or you pretend to be.
You love your family.
You have great hair.
You're tanner than me.
You have the most beautiful gray eyes of any girl I know.
You go to the zoo and to the balls and to the marbles at least once a week.
You read to our kids.
You've promised to never cheat on me, and you understand that I'll never forgive you if you do.
You think your measly one master's degree is as good as my two master's degrees.
You're unbelievably intelligent.
You use words no one else knows. In fact, you can only explain those words by waving your hands around while saying the words.
You have great legs.
You like to be taken out to dinner.
You love me.
You don't mind if I take 10 minutes out of study time to write you an email.
You're all mine (refer back to the "don't cheat on me" item)

I love you,

Tyler"

Let's just say chances I'll renew for another six months this August 17 are pretty good.

  2. Perhaps I overshot a bit! I wasn't going for a renewal, I was just trying to get forgiven for blowing you off the night before.

  4. I feel like I barely know Tyler (Howie), yet I'm not at all surprised he did this.

You guys are such a neat couple
